Recorded with producer Nick Launay (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) at Foo Fighters’ 606 Studios in Los Angeles. Punked-up hard-rock with an irrepressible joy de vivre from the Melbourne band that have gained international notoriety and fame. To be fair to them, they are keeping it all on their own terms, (using the media industry as much as it is using them). Cleanse yourself of the marketing bullshit, and at face value, here’s a good collection of tunes, played with plenty of savvy and umph. The hardcore attitude lives on, and you can hear it in some of the stand out tracks when the octane levels get high – that’s some Black Flag riffing, for sure.
